Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in social services or related field
  • ability to operate general office equipment including computers and telephones
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to handle physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • valid driver’s license for offsite errands

Job Duties

  • Answers the telephone and directs calls to the appropriate destination
  • records and distributes messages accurately
  • receives, greets, and announces visitors
  • maintains and updates client records
  • prepares and manages food pantry inventory and distribution
  • inspects and sorts donated items
  • interviews clients to assess eligibility and needs
  • coordinates with community agencies and probation services
  • processes financial and transportation assistance
  • maintains confidentiality of client information
  • performs general office administrative tasks
  • prepares reports and statistical data
  • assists with special and seasonal projects
  • drives to bank or post office as needed
