Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in sales, preferably in hospitality or related fields
  • Ability to handle pressure and remain solution-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with hotel operations
  • Proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Flexibility for varied work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to travel to industry events and trade shows

Job Qualifications

  • 2 - 5 years of sales experience required, preferably in hospitality or a related field
  • Ability to maintain composure and stay solution-oriented under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed deadlines and revenue targets
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Knowledge of hotel and resort operations and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and work schedules
  • Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences
  • Professional appearance/demeanor, representing the resort in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to travel to trade shows and industry events as required

Job Duties

  • Respond to group inquiries via phone, email, or in-person and provide accurate information about the hotel's services, amenities, and group rates
  • Proactively identify and pursue new small-group sales opportunities
  • Manage sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiating, and closing
  • Maintain sales pipelines and forecasts
  • Serve as the main point of contact for small-group organizers before, during and after the event
  • Provide expert guidance on event and service options
  • Maintain strong relationships to encourage repeat business and positive CSI
  • Manage all aspects of small-group meetings and events from initial turnover through final billing
  • Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), group resumes, and event diagrams/details
  • Coordinate event logistics with other internal departments, such as Food & Beverage, IT, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Reservations
  • Monitor events on-site to ensure service standards, timelines, and quality expectations are met
  • Troubleshoot challenges quickly and effectively to maintain seamless execution
  • Work closely with the F&B Team and other leaders to confirm accurate setups, details, and service delivery
  • Manage room blocks and group reservations, including rooming lists and billing arrangements
  • Create and manage contracts, collect deposits, and manage payment schedules
  • Review BEOs against contracts to ensure proper execution and billing
  • Perform post-event billing reviews and resolve discrepancies
  • Upsell food and beverage enhancements, A/V services, and other upgrades when appropriate
  • Monitor and analyze group performance metrics and provide regular reports to management
