Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent business management/financial analysis experience
  • minimum four years business management or two years business ownership experience
  • experience in restaurant industry operations and growth
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • ability to do periodic bending and long periods sitting and operating a computer
  • willingness to travel as needed
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively
  • commitment to meet grant funding guidelines
  • background check clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Previous or current small business owner
  • deep understanding of small business issues related to food businesses and restaurants
  • experience owning one or multiple restaurant locations
  • extensive knowledge of day-to-day restaurant operations, employee management, budget analysis, pricing models, inventory control, health department compliance, and lease negotiations
  • proven ability managing multi-unit restaurant operations
  • expertise in creating and implementing growth strategies including market analysis, site selection, and operational scaling
  • skills in developing standard operating procedures for quality and consistency
  • ability to manage budgets and assess readiness
  • experience in hiring, training, and retaining staff for scalability
  • knowledge of menu design to maximize profitability and efficiency
  • proficiency in supplier relationship and logistics management
  • ability to analyze sales, labor, and operational data for strategic decisions
  • experience advising small businesses
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • ability to maintain effective work relations with staff, clients, agencies, and business resources
  • computer proficiency with various software packages

Job Duties

  • Provide consulting, training, and information services to pre-venture, start-up, and small businesses
  • Maintain client database and prepare detailed written assessments with recommendations
  • Keep abreast of business trends, techniques, and processes
  • Collaborate with peers and the business community to expand expertise
  • Conduct community outreach including public presentations and service on economic development boards
  • Travel as required for county-wide job functions
  • Complete all forms and maintain client files as required by the SBA
  • Document assistance and outcomes of consulting and training sessions
  • Provide timely reports related to client milestones and economic success
  • Perform other duties as assigned
