Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- must have reliable telephone and transportation
- must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- must pass pre-employment background check
- must be a citizen of the US or possess necessary authorization from immigration service
- able to work outdoors in all weather conditions if requested
- must be physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and performing physical tasks
- must be able to communicate in English
- able to read and understand instructions
- must wear proper uniform or business attire with visible identification
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred
- previous baggage handling experience preferred
- ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- tactful in dealing with various individuals
- ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
- clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- physical ability to lift, stoop, squat, push, stand and bend throughout the shift
- ability to lift, carry and hold up to 75 lbs
- familiar with relevant regulations
- able to maintain professional appearance
- ability to attend meetings and training
- adherence to company policies and procedures
Job Duties
- Meet and greet outbound passengers at terminal entrance
- determine service need and check luggage
- direct passengers to gate when possible
- input checked baggage into baggage system
- provide special service such as courtesy chairs, bags, carts, assistance with carry-on baggage
- provide general information to passengers, give directions and flight information
- meet inbound flights and assist passengers
- meet and greet arriving passengers in claim area
- offer assistance obtaining baggage and ground transportation
- transport checked baggage to appropriate locations including conveyor system and bag room
- handle oversized luggage properly
- maintain cleanliness of work area and report maintenance needs
- follow all regulations and company policies
- attend meetings and in-services
- project a positive image and respond courteously to inquiries
- utilize company equipment and supplies conscientiously
- perform other duties as requested
