Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- must have reliable telephone and transportation
- must pass pre-employment and random drug test
- must pass pre-employment background check
- must be a US citizen or possess necessary INS authorization
- ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- must be able to communicate effectively in English
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to maintain professional demeanor
- ability to report maintenance needs and communicate with supervisors
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred
- previous baggage handling experience preferred
- ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English verbally and in written form
- ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
- tact to deal with various situations and clientele
- familiarity with government, client, airport, and company regulations
- ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- ability to lift, stoop, squat, push, stand and/or bend throughout the shift
- ability to lift, carry and/or hold up to 75 lbs
- willingness to attend meetings and training
- professionalism in appearance and conduct
Job Duties
- Meet and greet outbound passengers at terminal entrance
- determine service need and check luggage
- direct passengers to gate and input checked baggage into baggage system
- provide special services like courtesy chair, bags, carts, and carry-on assistance
- provide general information on flights and directions
- meet inbound flights and greet arriving passengers in claim areas
- transport checked and oversized baggage to appropriate locations
- handle passenger property with care
- stay informed of regulations and company policies
- maintain cleanliness of work area and report maintenance needs
- project a positive image and respond courteously to inquiries
- attend meetings and in-services as required
- wear proper uniform or business attire with visible identification
- use company equipment and supplies responsibly
- perform other duties as requested
