Job Requirements

  • Current active-duty service member
  • meet Department of Defense SkillBridge qualifications
  • available to participate for up to 180 days
  • obtain signed approval from unit commander rank O4 or above
  • agree to terminate participation if mission requirements dictate
  • FAA rotorcraft-helicopter commercial certificate
  • FAA rotorcraft-helicopter instrument rating
  • current FAA Class II medical certificate
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2000 total flight hours
  • 1500 helicopter hours
  • 1000 helicopter pilot in command hours
  • 1000 turbine helicopter hours
  • 200 helicopter night flight hours aided or unaided
  • 200 instrument flight hours actual, hood or simulator
  • 50 hours actual weather in aircraft for IFR roles
  • 230-pound weight limit dressed in flight suit and boots

Job Qualifications

  • FAA rotorcraft-helicopter commercial certificate
  • FAA rotorcraft-helicopter instrument rating
  • current FAA Class II medical certificate or better
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2000 total flight hours with no conversion factor applied
  • minimum 1500 helicopter flight hours
  • minimum 1000 helicopter pilot in command hours
  • minimum 1000 turbine helicopter hours
  • minimum 200 helicopter night flight hours aided or unaided
  • minimum 200 instrument hours including actual, hood, or simulator
  • minimum 50 hours actual weather in aircraft for IFR positions
  • previous Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) experience or equivalent preferred
  • strong communication and collaboration skills
  • ability to maintain certifications and comply with safety standards

Job Duties

  • Work with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities
  • ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches as per manuals and regulatory requirements including all FAR and Med-Trans standards
  • maintain accurate Medical Transportation Center (MTC) and regulatory documentation and record keeping
  • communicate and collaborate effectively with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners
  • provide shift change information to successive pilot and team according to Med-Trans change board protocol
  • maintain required certifications and ongoing training for compliance and safety
