Job Requirements

  • Current active-duty service member
  • meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications
  • available to participate 90 days
  • obtain approval from unit commander and accept that participation can be terminated if mission requirements dictate
  • work remotely in the continental US
  • high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • state driver’s license
  • national or state paramedic certification (as applicable)
  • CPR certification
  • PALS certification
  • PHTLS or ITLS certification
  • pass physical ability test
  • driving record in compliance with company policy

Job Qualifications

  • Current active-duty service member
  • meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications
  • obtained high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • holds national or state paramedic certification (as applicable)
  • certified in CPR, PALS, and PHTLS or ITLS
  • able to participate in the 90-day SkillBridge program
  • approved by unit commander for participation in SkillBridge
  • strong communication and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive paramedic protocols
  • utilize paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care
  • communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given
  • act as paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed
  • drive the ambulance on 911 responses
  • work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow paramedics
  • participate in community programs to maintain GMR image and establish strong community relations
