Job Requirements

  • be an active-duty U.S. military member
  • meet DoD SkillBridge qualifications
  • available to participate for up to 180 days
  • obtain signed approval from unit commander (04 or above) and agree participation can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate
  • knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • have 3 years of turbine helicopter maintenance experience with a minimum of six months helicopter maintenance experience during the last 24 months
  • knowledge of aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning
  • ability to safely perform work on scaffolding or ladders
  • ability to stand, lie and kneel in awkward positions and spaces for varying durations
  • ability to lift, push and pull objects weighing 10-50 pounds at a time
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance
  • manual dexterity and physical strength to operate tools, make adjustments and repairs
  • acceptability under FAA drug and alcohol testing program
  • coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate
  • knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
  • 3 years of turbine helicopter maintenance experience with a minimum of six months helicopter maintenance experience during the last 24 months
  • aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning
  • manufacturer training or equivalent on Bell 407 preferred
  • Bell 407 maintenance experience preferred
  • related experience under CFR Parts 91, 135 and 145 preferred
  • HAA knowledge preferred
  • avionics troubleshooting and electrical repair experience preferred
  • additional FAA/FCC ratings preferred
  • Inspection Authorization Certification preferred
  • IFR helicopter avionics and auto-pilot experience preferred
  • prior civilian HEMS experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and provide regular statuses to the Lead Technician
  • manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures
  • clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company’s information security standards
  • sustain a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew
  • use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members
  • work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as fellow Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and operations team
