Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to carry up to 30 lbs up to 25 feet
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods
  • Able to bend crouch and crawl for inspections

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to organize tasks, projects, information and time to be efficient and effective
  • Applies critical thinking, problem solving, and a sense of urgency to address workplace safety
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards
  • Knowledgeable to assist with audits internal and external
  • Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor particularly when faced with challenging situations with empathy to distressed individuals
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Expected to work with others of varying authority levels and create trust among general staff relating to EHS initiatives and best practices
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems
  • Effective communication skills including listening, verbal and written expressions
  • Comfortability speaking to a diverse audience in interpersonal and large group settings
  • Bilingual in Spanish, both verbally and written preferred

Job Duties

  • Act as point of contact for all safety matters at assigned location
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard assessments throughout the manufacturing environment
  • Drive safety consistency and standardization throughout assigned location operations
  • Oversee and track safety incident claims, providing updates as needed
  • Monitor and enhance workplace ergonomics
  • Report daily shift activities, including safety observations, concerns, and task events
  • Assist in the implementation of safety programs and policies
  • Ensure compliance with work restrictions by employees and supervisors, including Return to Work documentation
  • Partner with departments regarding training compliance and safety initiatives
  • Conduct site safety training
  • Participate in site compliance, review, and audits internal and external
  • Follow up on audit findings to ensure prompt closure of corrective action items
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EHS, HR, production, engineering, and quality assurance to integrate safety into daily operations
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve safety conditions
  • Collaborate with site leadership and EHS to address workplace safety needs
  • Demonstrate continuous interest and effort to expand safety competency, including certifications
