Job Requirements
- high school diploma
- bachelor’s degree in related scientific field
- 5 years of construction industry safety experience in DOD or BOS projects
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification within past 5 years
- current first aid, CPR, and AED training
- ability to obtain DOD security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- fluency in English
- possession of valid passport with required validity and visa pages
- possession of valid driver’s license
- extensive knowledge of USACE Safety Manual EM 385-1-1
- ability to conduct mishap investigations
- pass drug screen, criminal and background checks
- maintain competency according to EM 385-1-1
- available on-site during work hours
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma
- bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, industrial hygiene, health physics, fire prevention, or related field
- have 5 years of construction industry safety experience on DOD or BOS projects
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification within past 5 years
- current first aid, CPR, and AED training
- able to pass DOD security clearance
- extensive knowledge of USACE Safety Manual EM 385-1-1
- trained to conduct mishap investigations per OPNAVINST 5100.23 and 5102.1 series
- fluent in English
- U.S. citizenship
- possess a valid passport and driver’s license
- preferred CSP or CHST certification
- preferred ability to train personnel in fall protection, excavation, shoring, scaffolding, or confined space safety
Job Duties
- produce, implement, and enforce accident prevention plans
- attend pre-work meetings and create job-specific hazard analyses
- oversee project construction crews to ensure safety compliance
- collaborate with project teams and subcontractors on safety enforcement
- conduct safety inspections and prepare reports
- coordinate emergency responses and liaise with emergency entities
- provide safety training and orientations
- conduct mishap investigations and complete accident reporting
- maintain OSHA forms for injury and illness logs
- track and monitor safety deficiencies
- manage hazardous chemical inventories and safety data sheets
- maintain records of high-hazard activities
- provide site safety orientation for employees and visitors
