Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

- Food Handler's Permit or willingness to obtain one
Job Duties
- Promote work and act in a manner consistent with the mission of LaCoco's Pizza & Pasta
- Inspect clean and maintain food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens grills fryers and other kitchen equipment
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality tracking inventory and rotating stock
- Read food order tickets or receive verbal instructions and prepare and cook food accordingly
- Cook the exact number of items ordered working on several orders simultaneously
- Comply with standard portion sizes cooking methods quality standards and kitchen policies
- Responsible for quality of products served
- Stock and maintain food product levels at line stations to support smooth service period
- Handle store and rotate food products and supplies according to policies
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment
- Weigh measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- Portion arrange and garnish food according to portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Observe and test foods to determine sufficient cooking using tasting smelling or utensils
- Follow proper plating and wrapping presentation for all foods
- Wash peel and cut fruits and vegetables for consumption
- Assist in food prep during off-peak periods
- Substitute or assist other cooks during emergencies
- Close the kitchen following closing checklist and assist others
- Attend scheduled meetings and offer improvement suggestions
- Coordinate with employees to meet guest needs and support restaurant operations
- Fill in for employees as needed to ensure guest service and efficient operations
- Keep work area clean and well-maintained
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Double-check orders when bagging food
