Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
- ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
- ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies

Job Duties
- Empty all trash and recycling containers as prescribed by Store Management
- clean and sanitize bathrooms including all plumbing fixtures
- replenish paper and soap supplies in all restrooms
- clean, mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax, buff or vacuum floor areas as designated
- clean Associate break and lunch areas
- monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and submit purchase orders or requests
- operate equipment safely with all safeguards in place
- control excessive use of utilities, supplies and water
- coordinate activities with other Associates for productivity and efficiency
- observe security standards and report abnormal behavior
- check prices and be knowledgeable about item locations in the store
- regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
- maintain the security of auxiliary doors and entrances
- maintain good communication with Associates and Store Management
- maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- greet Customers and provide courteous service
- collect empty shopping carts and return them
- utilize and maintain equipment and report problems
- observe store rules and Company policies
- dress and groom according to Company policy
- observe shift operating hours
- perform all duties in accordance with Company rules, safety and health regulations
- follow HAZCOM program and safe use of chemical products
- perform duties in accordance with safety policies
- assist in training personnel when required
- complete all applicable department training programs
- stand for duration of scheduled shift
- perform duties in line with ShopRite’s service priorities
- maintain punctual and regular attendance
- work overtime as assigned
- work cooperatively with others
- must be 18 years or older to operate certain machinery
- perform other duties as assigned
