Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language
  • ability to perform basic math
  • ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • enter customer information into database for eligibility in company programs
  • be knowledgeable in store products
  • sort and return return to stock items with priority to refrigerated and perishable goods
  • perform price check functions as needed
  • issue and update rain checks
  • answer phone promptly and professionally
  • issue refunds and price plus cards
  • understand and operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures
  • enforce company policies on checkout, cash control, coupons, gift cards and merchandise returns
  • check equipment daily
  • process all forms of payments
  • maintain cash integrity by handling pickups, making change and safeguarding tills
  • fill staffing needs by opening registers and calling for assistance
  • check prices and store item locations
  • lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
  • comply with company shrink guidelines
  • promote charitable sales
  • stand for duration of shift
  • assist with voids, overrides and enforce front-end policies
  • proactively operate registers
  • monitor breaks and ensure proper timekeeping
  • ensure compliance with child labor laws
  • utilize department equipment
  • maintain sanitation and quality standards
  • adhere to local, state and federal regulations
  • follow company rules and safety standards
  • comply with HAZCOM program
  • dress according to company policy
  • perform QA hand washing and use gloves when handling food
  • complete training programs
  • uphold service priorities of safety, friendliness, presentation and efficiency
  • maintain punctual attendance
