Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 60 lbs
- Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic effects
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
- Ability to engage and lead associates to achieve department goals
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service or retail management preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to use basic computer applications
- Capable of training and developing staff
- Understanding of inventory and financial management
- Familiarity with federal and state labor laws
Job Duties
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and legal regulations including HAACP and HAZCOM
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Supervise proper use of equipment and enforce safety policies
- Greet customers and provide courteous service
- Promote charitable sales initiatives
- Recruit, train, and develop department associates
- Lead teamwork and encourage associate engagement
- Ensure all product is properly stocked, rotated, and labeled
- Verify accuracy of invoices and manage inventory
- Monitor department financials to meet goals and reduce shrink
- Maintain department cleanliness and presentation standards
- Use technology and applications relevant to food service operations
- Adhere to local, state, and federal food service regulations
- Manage staffing levels to meet sales and customer service needs
- Assist with food preparation, catering, and special orders as needed
