Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 60 lbs
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic effects
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
  • Ability to engage and lead associates to achieve department goals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or retail management preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to use basic computer applications
  • Capable of training and developing staff
  • Understanding of inventory and financial management
  • Familiarity with federal and state labor laws

Job Duties

  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and legal regulations including HAACP and HAZCOM
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Supervise proper use of equipment and enforce safety policies
  • Greet customers and provide courteous service
  • Promote charitable sales initiatives
  • Recruit, train, and develop department associates
  • Lead teamwork and encourage associate engagement
  • Ensure all product is properly stocked, rotated, and labeled
  • Verify accuracy of invoices and manage inventory
  • Monitor department financials to meet goals and reduce shrink
  • Maintain department cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Use technology and applications relevant to food service operations
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal food service regulations
  • Manage staffing levels to meet sales and customer service needs
  • Assist with food preparation, catering, and special orders as needed
