Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 60 lbs
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
  • Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
  • Ability to engage and lead associates to achieve department goals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to train and develop team members
  • Proficient in basic math and computer skills
  • Customer service oriented with ability to engage and motivate associates
  • Ability to manage multiple operational tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with inventory management and scheduling
  • Ability to maintain high presentation and cleanliness standards

Job Duties

  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Enforce safety and food handling procedures including HAACP and HAZCOM
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Supervise associates ensuring proper use of equipment and personal protective gear
  • Greet customers and provide courteous service
  • Assist with hiring, training, and development of new associates
  • Promote charitable sales and engage customers
  • Maintain presentation standards including product stocking, labeling, and display
  • Use technology and applications to manage food service operations
  • Verify accuracy of invoices and product quality
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and correct pricing
  • Maintain department financials and minimize shrink
  • Schedule staffing to meet sales and customer service goals
  • Conduct all duties in compliance with labor laws
  • Assist in food preparation and catering as needed
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary
