Job Requirements
- ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the english language
- ability to perform basic math
- ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
- ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
- ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
- ability to work in varying temperatures
- ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies

Job Duties
- maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment according to sanitation and quality assurance standards
- keep floor clear of debris and spills
- perform all duties following local, state and federal regulations related to front-end operation
- comply with company rules, policies, safety requirements and security standards
- dress and groom according to company policy including uniform, name badge and hair restraint
- adhere to quality assurance hand washing and glove use standards
- greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- operate cash register and follow all cash handling procedures
- accurately identify and scan products under correct departments
- regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise up to 50 lbs
- check prices and maintain knowledge of item locations
- collect proper payment and provide accurate change
- process all forms of payment in accordance with company guidelines
- promote charitable sales promotions
- bag customer orders safely and efficiently
- handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to company policy
- maintain product knowledge including produce items
- stand at register for scheduled shifts
- adhere to company shrink guidelines
- follow HAZCOM program and chemical safety instructions
- utilize and maintain equipment and report problems
- complete applicable training programs
- perform duties in accordance with shoprite service priorities
- maintain punctual and regular attendance
- work overtime as assigned
- work cooperatively with others
- operate machinery only if 18 or older
- perform other duties as assigned
