Job Requirements

Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language
Ability to perform basic math
Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift 50 lbs
Ability to work with fresh, dried or processed products, spices and powders without allergic reactions
Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
Ability to work in varying temperatures
Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies

Job Duties

Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
Keep floor clear of debris and spills
Perform duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
Follow company rules, policies, safety requirements and security standards
Dress and groom according to company policy
Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards
Greet customers with prompt and courteous service
Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures
Accurately identify and scan products
Lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise up to 50 lbs
Check prices and know product locations
Collect payments and provide change
Process all forms of payments
Promote charitable promotions
Properly bag customer orders
Handle damaged or return-to-stock products
Maintain knowledge of store products
Stand at register for scheduled shifts
Adhere to company shrink guidelines
Follow HAZCOM program and chemical safety instructions
Utilize and maintain equipment
Complete department training programs
Maintain punctual attendance
Work overtime as assigned
Cooperate with others
Perform other duties as assigned
