Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old to operate certain equipment
- ability to read, write and understand English

Job Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English language
- ability to perform basic math
- ability to stand or walk for entire shifts
- ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift regularly 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
- ability to work with fresh, dried, and processed products without allergic reactions
- ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- ability to work in varying temperatures
- ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to comply with attendance and time policies
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment as per Department of Sanitation and QA standards
- keep floor clear of debris and spills
- perform duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations related to Front-End operations
- comply with company rules, policies, safety requirements and security standards
- dress and groom according to company policy including uniform and name badge requirements
- follow QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling unpackaged foods
- greet customers promptly and courteously
- operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures
- accurately identify and scan products under correct department
- lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
- check prices and be knowledgeable of store item locations
- collect proper payment and provide correct change
- process all forms of payment including cash, credit, checks, EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, vouchers, gift cards
- promote current charitable promotions
- properly bag customers’ orders safely and efficiently
- handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to company policy
- recognize and have knowledge about various products carried including produce items
- stand at register for duration of scheduled shifts which may exceed 8 hours
- adhere to company shrink guidelines for Front-End operations
- perform duties in accordance with company HAZCOM program
- maintain and utilize equipment as required
- complete department training programs
- uphold shopRite service priorities of Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency
- maintain punctual and regular attendance
- work overtime as assigned
- work cooperatively with others
- operate balers, hi-los, power jacks and slicing machines if 18 years or older
- perform other duties as assigned
