Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in bakery or food service preferred
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English
- Ability to assist bakery manager
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions
- Ability to work safely with fresh, dried and processed products, spices and powdered substances
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- Ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members
- Ability to work assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
- Must be 18 years or older to operate certain equipment
Job Qualifications

- Ability to assist the bakery manager

- Must be at least 18 years old to operate certain machinery
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards including safety, personal hygiene, and cleanliness of cases and equipment
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Keep floor clear of debris and spills
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- Maintain and properly use all department equipment
- Pack out product into display cases
- Rotate product to ensure freshness
- Ensure accurate signage for the department
- Prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
- Perform all duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to bakery operations
- Dress and groom according to company policy including uniform and hair restraint
- Follow quality assurance hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food
- Follow recipes to produce food products meeting specified flavor, texture, and appearance
- Adhere to weights and measures guidelines established by regulatory standards
- Operate equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients according to formulas or recipes
- Prepare special order requests as required
- Track sales movement on production logs
- Complete inventory and reorder supplies as needed
- Check prices and product locations in the store
- Promote current charitable promotions
- Stand throughout scheduled shifts
- Receive and place deliveries
- Manage product reclamation
- Lift and handle merchandise up to 50 lbs
- Assist other departments as instructed
- Follow all company rules, policies, safety requirements and security standards
- Adhere to hazard communication (HAZCOM) and chemical safety protocols
- Handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy
- Monitor refrigeration and equipment performance and report issues
- Complete all applicable department training programs
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance
- Work overtime as assigned
- Work cooperatively with others
- Operate balers, hi-los, power jacks, and slicing machines at age 18 or older
- Perform other duties as assigned
