Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
  • Ability to assist the Bakery Manager
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without allergic consequences
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping duties
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way

  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and QA standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • Maintain and properly use all department equipment as required
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company’s and customer’s satisfaction
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations related to bakery operations
  • Dress and groom according to company policy including uniform, name badge and hat or hair restraint
  • Perform duties in compliance with QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food
  • Follow recipes to produce food products with specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color
  • Maintain weights and measures guidelines as established
  • Set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients
  • Prepare special order requests as required
  • Track sales on production logs
  • Take inventory and reorder supplies weekly
  • Check prices and be knowledgeable about item locations
  • Promote charitable promotions to customers
  • Stand for duration of scheduled shifts
  • Receive deliveries and place reclamation
  • Lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • Follow all company safety and health policies
  • Use chemicals and equipment according to label instructions
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products as per company policy
  • Check and maintain refrigeration and other equipment
  • Complete departmental training
  • Uphold ShopRite service priorities
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • Work overtime as required
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks, and slicing machines if 18 or older
  • Perform other assigned duties
