Job Requirements

  • ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English
  • ability to assist the Bakery Manager
  • ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work in varying temperatures
  • ability to work with fresh, dried or processed products, spices, and powdered substances without allergic reactions
  • ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • ability to work cooperatively with others
  • ability to work assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
  • must be 18 years or older to operate certain bakery equipment

Job Duties

  • maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
  • clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • pack out product into display cases
  • rotate product to ensure freshness
  • ensure accurate signage for the department
  • prepare trays to company’s and customer’s satisfaction
  • perform all duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
  • dress and groom according to company policy
  • perform duties in accordance with quality assurance hand washing standards and use of disposable gloves when handling food
  • follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color
  • follow and adhere to weights and measures guidelines
  • set up, operate, and tend bakery equipment according to recipes
  • prepare special order requests
  • track movement of sales on production logs
  • take inventory and reorder supplies as needed
  • check prices and know item locations
  • promote charity promotions
  • stand for extended shifts
  • receive deliveries
  • place reclamation properly
  • lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise up to 50 lbs
  • unload trucks and transport merchandise to bakery department
  • assist in other departments as instructed
  • follow company rules and safety requirements
  • participate in company’s HAZCOM program
  • follow approved procedures for receiving, storing, and restocking products
  • handle damaged and spoiled products per policy
  • understand and adhere to shrink guidelines
  • check refrigeration equipment regularly
  • maintain and report on equipment
  • complete department training programs
  • work cooperatively
  • maintain punctual attendance
  • work overtime as assigned
  • perform other duties as assigned
