Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices, and powdered substances without allergic consequences
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping
  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks and slicing machines

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language
  • Ability to assist the Bakery Manager
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Experience with food preparation or bakery work preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and adhere to quality assurance procedures
  • Basic math skills for inventory and sales tracking

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • Maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company’s and customer’s satisfaction
  • Perform all duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to bakery operations
  • Dress and groom according to company policy including uniform, name badge and hair restraint requirements
  • Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, color and other attributes
  • Adhere to weight and measure guidelines
  • Set up, operate and tend bakery equipment according to formulas and recipes
  • Prepare special order requests
  • Track sales movement on production logs
  • Take inventory of supplies weekly and reorder as needed
  • Check prices and product location knowledge
  • Promote charitable sales
  • Stand for duration of scheduled shifts
  • Receive deliveries and place reclamation
  • Lift and transport merchandise
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Follow company safety, security and health regulations
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products per policy
  • Monitor refrigeration and report failures
  • Complete department training
  • Maintain punctual attendance
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Must be 18 or older to operate certain machinery
  • Perform other assigned duties
