Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices, and powdered substances without allergic consequences
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
- Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks and slicing machines
Job Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language
- Ability to assist the Bakery Manager
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Experience with food preparation or bakery work preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow recipes and adhere to quality assurance procedures
- Basic math skills for inventory and sales tracking
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Keep floor clear of debris and spills
- Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- Maintain and properly use all department equipment
- Pack out product into display cases
- Rotate product to ensure freshness
- Ensure accurate signage for the department
- Prepare trays to company’s and customer’s satisfaction
- Perform all duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to bakery operations
- Dress and groom according to company policy including uniform, name badge and hair restraint requirements
- Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, color and other attributes
- Adhere to weight and measure guidelines
- Set up, operate and tend bakery equipment according to formulas and recipes
- Prepare special order requests
- Track sales movement on production logs
- Take inventory of supplies weekly and reorder as needed
- Check prices and product location knowledge
- Promote charitable sales
- Stand for duration of scheduled shifts
- Receive deliveries and place reclamation
- Lift and transport merchandise
- Assist in other departments as needed
- Follow company safety, security and health regulations
- Handle damaged and spoiled products per policy
- Monitor refrigeration and report failures
- Complete department training
- Maintain punctual attendance
- Work overtime as assigned
- Must be 18 or older to operate certain machinery
- Perform other assigned duties
