Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Ability to stand or walk for full scheduled shifts
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs, occasionally lift 60 lbs
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried, and processed products and tolerate exposure to spices and powdered substances
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • Ability to climb ladders for inventory management
  • Ability to interact cordially with customers and cooperate with others
  • Ability to work assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
  • Ability to engage and lead Associates to achieve department goals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior supervisory or managerial experience preferred
  • Knowledge of bakery operations and food safety regulations
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage inventory and department financials
  • Proficiency with computer applications relevant to bakery management

Job Duties

  • Direct and supervise all functions and activities of Bakery Department
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and local, state, federal laws
  • Lead and engage Associates to meet department goals
  • Maintain food safety standards including HACCP and HAZCOM adherence
  • Manage bakery inventory, pricing, and merchandise presentation
  • Provide exemplary customer service and promote charitable sales initiatives
  • Develop and train new and existing Associates effectively
