Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- ability to perform basic math
- ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- ability to work in varying temperatures
- ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
- ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
- ability to maintain department sanitation and QA standards including safety, personal hygiene, clean cases and equipment
- ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies

- ability to promote and handle store merchandise according to company standards
- ability to stand for long periods and lift weights up to 50 lbs
- ability to understand company shrink guidelines and loss prevention methods
- ability to use department equipment properly
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment according to sanitation standards
- keep floor clear of debris and spills
- greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- maintain and properly use all department equipment
- pack out product into display cases
- rotate product to ensure freshness
- ensure accurate signage for the department
- prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
- perform duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations for bakery operation
- perform duties in line with company rules, policies, safety and security standards
- dress and groom according to company policy including uniform and hair restraint
- follow QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food
- place reclamation in proper location
- unload trucks and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
- regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise
- check prices and product location knowledge
- promote current charitable sales to customers
- stand for scheduled shifts which may exceed 8 hours
- receive deliveries
- assist other departments as instructed
- work overtime as needed
- follow company HAZCOM program for chemical safety
- follow approved procedures for receiving, code dating, preparing, storing, price marking, arranging and restocking products
- handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy
- check refrigeration equipment and report failures
- adhere to company shrink guidelines
- utilize and maintain equipment, reporting problems
- complete all department training
- perform duties in line with ShopRite service priorities (safety, friendliness, presentation, efficiency)
- maintain punctual and regular attendance
- work cooperatively with others
- operate balers, hi-lo's, power jacks, slicing machines (18+ only)
- perform other duties as assigned
