Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and QA standards preferred
- Experience operating baking or food processing equipment a plus

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain department sanitation and QA standards
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Keep floor clear of debris and spills
- Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- Maintain and properly use all department equipment
- Pack out product into display cases
- Rotate product to ensure freshness
- Ensure accurate signage for the department
- Prepare trays to company’s and customer’s satisfaction
- Perform duties following local, state and federal regulations
- Dress and groom according to company policy
- Follow QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves
- Follow recipes to produce food products of specified quality
- Operate baking and food processing equipment
- Prepare special order requests as required
- Track sales movement and maintain production logs
- Take accurate inventory and reorder supplies
- Place reclamation properly
- Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise
- Unload trucks and transport merchandise to bakery
- Check prices and know product locations
- Promote charity sales to customers
- Stand for shift duration
- Receive deliveries
- Assist other departments when instructed
- Follow chemical safety instructions
- Adhere to company rules, safety and security policies
- Perform product receiving, preparation, storing and restocking
- Handle damaged and spoiled products
- Follow company shrink guidelines
- Maintain equipment and report issues
- Check refrigeration performance
- Complete all department training
- Uphold shoprite service priorities
- Maintain regular attendance
- Work assigned overtime
- Cooperate with others
- Operate machinery if over 18
- Perform additional assigned duties
