Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous bakery or food service experience preferred
  • Ability to work all assigned schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Must be at least 18 years old to operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks, and slicing machines
  • Ability to comply with all time and attendance policies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as described
  • Must comply with uniform and grooming standards
  • Must complete all required training programs

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English
  • Ability to stand and walk for entire shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to tolerate dust, cleaning agents and food substances without allergic reactions
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Knowledge of bakery operations and equipment helpful
  • Basic math skills for inventory and production logs
  • Willingness to follow company policies and safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and QA standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • Maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company’s and customer’s satisfaction
  • Perform duties in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations
  • Dress and groom according to company policy
  • Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards
  • Follow recipes to produce specified food products
  • Set up and operate bakery equipment
  • Prepare special order requests
  • Track sales on production logs
  • Take inventory and reorder supplies
  • Place reclamation properly
  • Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise
  • Unload trucks and transport merchandise
  • Check prices and know item locations
  • Promote charitable promotions
  • Stand for duration of scheduled shift
  • Receive deliveries
  • Assist in other departments
  • Follow HAZCOM program and safety instructions
  • Adhere to company rules, policies and safety standards
  • Follow procedures for receiving, storing, and restocking products
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products
  • Adhere to shrink guidelines
  • Utilize and maintain equipment
  • Check refrigeration performance
  • Complete department training programs
  • Follow ShopRite service priorities
  • Maintain punctual attendance
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Work cooperatively with others
