Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bakery or food service experience preferred
- Ability to work scheduled shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must be 18 years or older to operate specific equipment
- Ability to comply with all time and attendance policies
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
- Must follow health, safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to work overtime and adaptable to store needs
Job Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English
- Ability to stand and walk during shifts
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift regularly 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to work with fresh, dried, processed products, spices and powders without allergic reactions
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- Friendly and helpful customer interaction skills
- Cooperative work with others
- Ability to follow company policies and safety standards
- Knowledge of bakery equipment operation and maintenance
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Keep floor clear of debris and spills
- Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service
- Maintain and properly use all department equipment
- Pack out product into display cases
- Rotate product to ensure freshness
- Ensure accurate signage for the department
- Prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
- Perform duties according to local, state and federal regulations
- Dress and groom according to company policy
- Follow recipes to produce specified food products
- Set up, operate and tend bakery equipment
- Prepare special order requests
- Track sales on production logs
- Take inventory and reorder supplies weekly
- Place reclamation in proper location
- Regularly lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs
- Unload deliveries and transport merchandise
- Check prices and item locations
- Promote charitable sales
- Stand for duration of shift
- Receive deliveries
- Assist other departments as needed
- Follow safety and chemical handling procedures
- Handle damaged and spoiled products
- Adhere to shrink guidelines
- Maintain equipment and report issues
- Check refrigeration performance
- Complete department training
- Follow company service priorities
- Maintain regular attendance
- Work overtime as assigned
- Cooperate with others
- Operate balers, hi-los, power jacks and slicing machines if 18 or older
- Perform other assigned duties
