Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without allergic reactions

Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards including safety, personal hygiene, clean cases, and equipment
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, and equipment according to sanitation standards
- Keep the floor clear of debris and spills
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- Maintain and properly use all department equipment
- Pack out products into display cases
- Rotate products to ensure freshness
- Ensure accurate signage is displayed
- Prepare trays according to company and customer satisfaction
- Perform duties following local, state and federal regulations
- Dress and groom according to company policy including uniform and hair restraints
- Follow hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food
- Follow recipes to produce food products with specified qualities
- Set up, operate and tend equipment according to recipes
- Prepare special order requests as needed
- Track sales movement on production logs
- Take inventory and reorder supplies weekly
- Place reclamation items properly
- Regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing 25 to 50 lbs
- Unload trucks and transport merchandise to bakery department
- Check prices and product locations
- Promote charitable sales to customers
- Stand at work station for the duration of the shift
- Receive deliveries
- Assist other departments when instructed
- Follow HAZCOM program and chemical safety instructions
- Adhere to company rules, security and safety standards
- Follow procedures for receiving, coding, storing, and restocking products
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy
- Understand and follow shrink guidelines
- Maintain and report equipment problems
- Check refrigeration equipment regularly
- Complete all training programs
- Perform duties according to ShopRite service priorities
- Maintain punctual attendance
- Work overtime as assigned
- Work cooperatively with others
- Operate machinery if 18 years or older
- Perform other duties as assigned
