Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
  • ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs and occasionally 50 lbs
  • ability to work in varying temperatures
  • ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
  • ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during housekeeping
  • ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • ability to work cooperatively with others
  • ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
  • must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-los, power jacks and slicing machines

Job Qualifications

  • experience operating bakery or food preparation equipment preferred

  • good communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • maintain department sanitation and QA standards including safety, personal hygiene, clean cases, and equipment
  • clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment according to department standards
  • keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • maintain and properly use all department equipment as required
  • pack out products into display cases
  • rotate products to ensure freshness
  • ensure accurate signage for the department
  • prepare trays to company and customer's satisfaction
  • perform all duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations pertaining to bakery operations
  • dress and groom according to company policy including uniform and name badge
  • follow recipes to produce food products of specified qualities
  • set up, operate, and tend equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients
  • prepare special order requests
  • track sales movement on production logs
  • take complete and accurate inventory of supplies
  • place reclamation in proper location
  • regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise up to 50 lbs
  • unload trucks and transport merchandise
  • check prices and know location of items in store
  • promote current charitable sales
  • stand for entire shifts
  • receive deliveries
  • assist other departments when instructed
  • perform duties according to company HAZCOM program
  • adhere to all company rules, policies, safety, and security standards
  • follow approved procedures for receiving, storing, and restocking products
  • handle damaged and spoiled products
  • understand and adhere to shrink guidelines
  • maintain equipment
  • check refrigeration regularly
  • complete all department training programs
  • maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • work overtime as assigned
  • work cooperatively with others
  • perform other duties as assigned
