Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 60 lbs
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
- Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
- Ability to engage and lead associates to achieve department goals
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English proficiently
- Basic math skills
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Skilled in leading and engaging associates to achieve department goals
- Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP guidelines
- Ability to communicate clearly and work cooperatively with associates and customers
- Experience in retail or grocery store department management preferred
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to manage inventory and pricing accuracy
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer experience and department presentation
Job Duties
- Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Appy/Deli Department and its associates to achieve department goals
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies, HAACP and Food Handling procedures, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment according to quality assurance standards
- Greet and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance to customers
- Assist with interviewing, selection, training, and development of department associates
- Monitor and maintain accurate pricing, labeling, stock rotation, and presentation of merchandise
- Manage inventory accuracy and ensure proper product storage and handling
- Lead associate engagement through continual training, feedback, and motivation
- Enforce department safety policies and equipment usage procedures
- Oversee departmental financial goals and shrink control
- Ensure proper staffing to meet sales and customer service needs
- Complete all required department training and maintain food safety certification
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Support preparation of food products, catering, and special orders
