Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 60 lbs
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
- Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
- Ability to engage and lead associates to achieve department goals
Job Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- Basic math skills
- Experience in food retail or deli department management preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
- Ability to use basic computer functions
- Ability to engage and lead associates
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance
- Ability to maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment
Job Duties
- Direct and supervise all functions and activities in the Appy/Deli Department
- Ensure department goals for sales, profit, customer experience, and associate engagement are achieved
- Enforce safety standards and compliance with food safety regulations
- Lead, train, and motivate department associates
- Monitor and maintain department presentation, including product stocking and merchandising
- Maintain accurate departmental records and reports
- Manage department operations for productivity and efficiency
- Oversee equipment maintenance and safety practices
- Communicate effectively with customers, associates, and management
- Assist with onboarding and continual development of associates
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and policies
