Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in shipfitting or metal fabrication
- ability to use power and hand tools proficiently
- knowledge of welding and metal forming equipment
- capability to work in various fabrication environments
- willingness to adhere to safety protocols
- pass company pre-employment background check
- pass drug test
- pass physical skills test
Job Qualifications
- Experience in shipfitting or metal fabrication
- knowledge of MiG and Arc welding techniques
- ability to read standard and metric engineering drawings
- strong problem-solving skills
- effective communication and teamwork abilities
- commitment to safety practices and ESR safety culture
- ability to mentor or train apprentices
Job Duties
- Fabricate, form, and fit metal structures to build structural elements of marine vessels during all phases of construction and rebuilds
- perform job functions in a variety of environments including fabrication shop, modular jigs, or on finished assembly
- layout, cut, form, prepare, and perform final assembly
- use a variety of power and hand tools including grinder, level, and tape measure
- lay out and build jigs for building modules and superstructures
- work from standard and metric engineering drawings
- tack and perform minor welding with MiG and Arc Welding processes
