At Del Taco, the Shift Manager role plays a pivotal part in supporting store operations and assisting General Managers in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Shift Managers are instrumental in creating an exciting, optimistic, and rewarding culture within each restaurant. Job Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
- 1-2 years of experience in quick service restaurant environment with demonstrated ability to ensure guest satisfaction and train staff
- Food Handlers certification may be required
- Ability to stand and walk for 95-100% of shift including ability to bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds
- Open availability to work any shifts as needed
- Ability to read, write and speak effectively in English
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in quick service restaurant or guest service industry in a supervisory or leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead staff to achieve organizational goals
- General knowledge of computers, POS systems and various software
- Ability to perform basic business math and cash handling
- Excellent organizational skills for detailed record-keeping
- Ability to visually assess and evaluate safety hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and health codes
- Strong communication skills to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and guests
- Ability to implement training and development plans and train staff
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned
Job Duties
- Supports Restaurant Manager in supervising team that delivers effective results in quality, guest service, food cost, labor cost, safety, security, cleanliness and product preparation
- Runs shifts and supports RM in managing execution of all company policies, procedures, programs and systems
- Demonstrates knowledge of all work station functions and paperwork essential for recording and monitoring each job
- Supervises 1 to 7 team members
- Ensures objectives are reached in all areas while following company guidelines
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and ethical business practices during shifts
- Supports RM in creating and maintaining an employer of choice environment
- Provides leadership, direction, training and development to the restaurant team
- Assists RM in staffing decisions such as recommending interviews and administering disciplinary actions
- Exhibits cheerful and helpful manner
- Uses POS system to record orders and collect payment
- Adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards
- Follows company operation policies and procedures
- Makes recommendations to enhance restaurant operations
- Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards
- May attend business meetings for training and development
