Job Requirements
- Ability to act as responsible leader during store manager absence
- Capability to assign work and oversee inventory control
- Knowledge of shift reconciliation procedures

- Ability to adhere to federal, state, and local laws regarding restricted sales
- Proficiency in preparing fresh food and maintaining food safety

- Ability to stock and maintain merchandise and equipment
- Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 55 pounds
- Willingness to work multiple shifts including first, second, and third
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Capacity to stand for long periods

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food safety certifications preferred
- Prior experience in retail or food service valued but not required
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good problem-solving capabilities
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to use basic arithmetic for cash handling and inventory
- Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team

Job Duties
- Maintain overall safety on shift
- Perform all GSR shift duties
- Execute shift reconciliation procedures
- Manage category counts, cash and inventory control
- Oversee vendor check-in procedures
- Provide up-to-date training on standard practices, procedures, and food safety
- Coach team members and ensure prioritization, delegation, and completion of tasks during shifts without store management
- Assist in training new team members
- Deliver guest service with a helpful and friendly attitude
- Enforce meal and rest breaks compliance
- Adhere to all applicable laws regarding restricted sales
- Prepare fresh food while maintaining food safety standards
- Follow cash handling procedures
- Keep shelves, coolers, and displays fully stocked and fronted
- Use suggestive selling techniques and promote loyalty programs
- Clean windows, floors, shelving, counters, restrooms, and maintain equipment
- Monitor and clean fuel dispensers and store grounds
- Live Thorntons' Core Values and ensure a welcoming environment
- Follow attendance and company policies
- Embrace new company initiatives and technologies
- Maintain PAR levels for food offerings
- Perform additional duties as assigned
