Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service or coffee shop environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties

  • Prepare and/or direct the preparation of food complying with sanitation and health standards
  • greet customers and promote positive relations
  • maintain coffee bar and display area clean and safe
  • maintain personal health and sanitation standards
  • introduce customers to menu and answer questions
  • take detailed orders including coffee preferences
  • prepare beverages following recipes
  • serve beverages and prepared food
  • receive and process payments
  • maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
  • check brewing equipment and report maintenance needs
  • comply with health and safety regulations
  • uphold and foster positive attitude and demeanor
  • help develop training curriculum and train new staff
  • enforce cafe rules and promote its success
  • manage smooth operations and inventory availability
  • keep stock of items/ingredients and assign tasks
  • handle customer concerns and communicate with management
  • attend to dining room needs and customer feedback
  • encourage good reviews and address concerns
  • perform other duties as assigned
