Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one year experience performing security or social service work preferred
- ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively
- ability to perform data entry
- ability to respond to emergencies quickly and calmly
- ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking
- ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally
- willingness to work overnight shifts
- ability to maintain neat and proper facility order
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- one year experience in security or social service work preferred
- knowledge of client intake procedures
- ability to maintain accurate records and logs
- ability to respond calmly to emergencies
- effective communication skills
- ability to distribute supplies and medications
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain
- Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain
- valid state driver's license preferred
Job Duties
- Assists residents staying in the shelter overnight
- performs client intake procedures and prepares client intake records
- monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules
- maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information
- ensures that facility is maintained in a neat and proper order
- reports pertinent information to supervisor or Corps Officer
- ensures clients comply with house rules, checks client's baggage for drugs, alcohol, weapons
- responds to emergencies calmly and initiates appropriate actions
- orients new clients to the program and prepares case records
- prepares and distributes meal and shower tickets, assigns bed numbers
- distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items
- secures and distributes client medications as required
- communicates with first responders in emergency situations
- informs supervisor of referral issues as they arise
- performs other duties as assigned
