Job Requirements
- Admission or registration as a CSU student
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work
- Follow oral instructions
- Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
- Communicate effectively with all levels
- Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position
- Ability to work a minimum of 10-15 hours per week
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress standards
- Enrolled in at least half-time units (6 units undergraduate
- 3 units graduate)
- Have a federal need of at least $2,000
- Submit all requested financial aid documentation by due date
- Have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
- Be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Social Security Card for payroll requirements
Job Qualifications
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA or greater per semester and cumulative
- Students must be enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate
- 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate
- 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Social Security Card for payroll purposes
- Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
- Experience working in a customer service-driven environment
- Ability to multi-task while managing multiple projects and adhering to deadlines
- Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff
- Proven communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Job Duties
- Serve as a peer mentor to SSD students, offering support in time management, self-advocacy, and academic navigation
- Maintain professional etiquette while conducting outreach via phone, email, and social media
- Assist with planning, developing, and implementing SSD events, workshops, and community programs
- Support the scheduling and delivery of SSD events including mentor mixers, social gatherings, and campus receptions
- Maintain records of mentee engagement, files, and documentation related to events and program activities
- Complete reports and submit required documentation in a timely manner
- Assist with updating departmental resource guides and communication materials for students, staff, and faculty
- Refer students to appropriate on- and off-campus resources and assist with scheduling appointments when needed
- Attend SSD staff meetings, required trainings, and professional development workshops
- Contribute to internal SSD projects and provide constructive feedback to improve student support services
- Perform other duties as assigned
