Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of commercial maintenance or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
- Some knowledge of first aid and safety precautions
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks according to schedule
- Skill in operation of tools and equipment
- Ability to work from heights
- Valid Class C Texas driver's license
- Pass fingerprint background check
- Pass TSA Security Threat Assessment
- Availability for rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

- Skill in operation of tools, equipment, and basic office correspondence
- Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance equipment, materials, and supplies

- Regular and punctual attendance
Job Duties
- Perform daily inspections, report outages and make minor repairs as needed
- Maintain and police airport terminal grounds, street, and aircraft non-movement areas to comply with FAA standards
- Open and close the terminal building and conduct security checks of fences and gates
- Maintain airport grounds using riding mowers, self-propelled mowers, weed eaters, pruning shears, edgers, and blowers
- Perform minor semi-skilled interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs including painting, floor covering, plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and carpentry
- Execute a full range of custodial duties such as cleaning restrooms, windows, woodwork, trash removal, light bulb replacement, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and waxing floors
- Operate aviation radios
- Conduct preventative maintenance on floor maintenance equipment and perform repairs
- React to aviation-related emergencies
- Operate a hydroelectric mobile lift for work at elevated heights
- Participate as a member of various employee committees
- Represent the city at conferences, seminars, and meetings
- Adhere to scheduled work hours, maintain compliance with city personnel policies and hold a valid driver's license
- Move and set up furniture as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
