Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in FOH roles
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities
  • Exceptional communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, accounting and cost management
  • Experience using restaurant management software like Toast and Tock
  • Ability to multitask and work in a high-pressure environment

Job Duties

  • Take an active role in training, coaching and assisting sommeliers, hosts, receptionists and service assistants
  • Manage overall dining room operations including inventory, preventative maintenance and supply forecasting
  • Act as liaison between front-line employees and kitchen
  • Lead FOH service team to maintain service standards
  • Ensure guest and employee satisfaction
  • Follow steps of service and communicate concept and philosophy clearly
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and assign performance goals
  • Recruit, onboard and train high-performing employees
  • Maintain project timelines
  • Develop and maintain budgetary and resource plans
  • Assist all service styles in the restaurant
  • Delegate responsibilities while enforcing policies and cultural values
  • Resolve internal staff conflicts
  • Assist guest research prior to service
  • Manage reservations and service reports
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness and ambiance
  • Address guest complaints
  • Update training plans for staff
  • Assist with inventory and ordering
  • Attend and assist in food and beverage training
  • Lead opening and closing duties
  • Maintain knowledge of service standards, menu, wines and beverages
  • Communicate with kitchen team daily
  • Mentor FOH staff on wine philosophy
  • Serve guests and assist FOH in service
  • Act as liaison between FOH and Chef regarding guest needs
