Job Description
North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in Napa, Sonoma, and Solano counties. As one of the 21 regional centers in California, NBRC offers a comprehensive range of services including advocacy, care coordination, and community-based support to help clients live as independently as possible. The center operates under a contract with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate assistance for children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree in a related field
- minimum 3 years experience working with developmental disabilities
- ability to work face-to-face with clients, families, and community partners
- must live within commute distance of the preferred NBRC office and assigned clients
- commitment to person-centered planning and client advocacy
- bilingual language ability preferred
- ability to conduct assessments and develop Individual Program Plans
- willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement with initial in-office presence
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in a field related to developmental disabilities such as social work, psychology, counseling, special education, or nursing
- master's degree preferred
- minimum 3 years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- bilingual Spanish to English skills preferred
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- knowledge of developmental disabilities and community resources
Job Duties
- using person-centered planning to assist clients in use of public and private resources before using regional center funds
- monitoring vendor services and verifying that services are delivered in accordance with purchase of service authorizations
- evaluating the effectiveness of clients' Individual Program Plans
- ensuring appropriate community resources are made available to clients
- conducting annual reassessments of clients' developmental status with interdisciplinary team
- conducting client assessments on an occasional basis
- collaborating with families, vendors, and community partners to support client goals
