Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year of job related experience preferred
  • completion of CPR and first aid certification may be required
  • ServSafe food handler card may be required
  • local health department food handler card may be required
  • ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • ability to multitask
  • knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • willingness to perform other duties as assigned
  • ability to attend required training and meetings
  • ability to maintain a warm and respectful demeanor with residents and guests

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year of job related experience preferred
  • completion of CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • ServSafe Food Handler card preferred
  • local health department food handler card preferred
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • good judgment and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Cultivate a warm and hospitable environment by making personal connections with residents and guests and treating all with professionalism and respect
  • take and deliver food orders in a timely manner
  • bus and reset tables per company standards
  • clean and maintain the dining room and bistro to the highest standards per company guidelines
  • complete required side work as assigned
  • attend pre-meal meetings to gain knowledge of the meal
  • know menu items and provide general descriptions
  • assist residents with menu selections and respond professionally to questions about menu items
  • use Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy
  • practice safe food handling procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and Sunrise policies
  • comply with occupational health and safety requirements including use of personal protective equipment and safety procedures
  • perform other dining services duties such as dishwashing, light janitorial duties, preparing and serving light meals, assisting with food preparation and plating
  • participate and commit to working toward team goals
  • demonstrate team member credo in daily interactions
  • contribute to resident and team member engagement programs
  • attend regular meetings such as Town Hall and Department Team meetings
  • maintain compliance with required training
  • perform other duties as assigned
