Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
- excellent communication skills
- ability to provide compassionate and patient service to elderly residents
- ability to follow health and safety regulations
- willingness to work in a team setting
Job Qualifications
- experience as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant or food-service-related industry
- able to function in a fast-paced environment
- strong ability to multi-task
- good communication, customer service and people skills
- professional, patient and able to satisfy a demanding customer base
- experience working with a senior population preferred but not required
- team player willing to help where needed
- familiarity with food safety, food preparation and board of health guidelines a plus
- able to adjust to different personality types and situations positively
- reliable, caring and gentle in actions and demeanor
- maintains abiding respect for the elderly and remains calm at all times
Job Duties
- patiently and cheerfully taking resident meal orders
- checking station tables for settings and cleanliness
- reading the menu before service to assist residents with their selections
- assisting in plating and proper portion control of appetizers, salads, soups, beverages and desserts
- bussing tables at the end of the meal
- ensuring meals are served and presented according to Director of Food Service guidelines
