Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • eighteen years of age or older
  • good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills
  • able to interact professionally with other customers and team members
  • able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • good judgment and decision making abilities
  • able to spend 100 percent of working time standing, walking, and reaching
  • able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally
  • able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces
  • able to climb and ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • able to carry loads greater than 50 pounds frequently
  • able to communicate clearly with customers in the primary language of the restaurant
  • able to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Job Duties

  • pull out chairs for female customers

  • accommodate and meet special needs of customers such as senior citizens, large parties, business meetings
  • utilize genuine salesmanship techniques during customer interactions
  • possess extensive knowledge of all food, seafood, chalkboard specials and beverage selections
  • place accurate orders using the POS system
  • deliver food and beverages with a sense of urgency ensuring hot food is hot and cold food is cold
  • manage a section of tables as if it were your own business
  • maintain a clean and organized section, service station, and dining room
  • adhere to responsible beverage service requirements
  • follow cash handling policies
  • perform secondary responsibilities such as assisting bussers by clearing or wiping tables
  • assist bartenders by stocking glassware, ice, and garnishes
  • complete assigned opening, ongoing, and closing sidework
  • maintain a safe, sanitary, and secure environment at all times
  • notify a manager of all customer complaints
  • remain calm at all times
  • perform any other tasks or duties assigned by a manager
