Job Duties
- maintains a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- works in a manner that promotes a safe and sanitary environment for staff, residents and visitors
- makes an active contribution towards improving community relations, increasing public regard and overall awareness of the independent living and/or assisted living community
- maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality
- folds dining room linens and prepares tables
- remains informed about work hours and schedules, arrives on time and works to end of shift so that other staff members are able to work efficiently and effectively
- presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service
- remains knowledgeable about posted daily specials and is prepared to inform diners of such specials and is able to answer questions concerning specials
- writes order on check and enters all other required information to ensure that food records and billings are complete and correct
- relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars
- paces course delivery and sequence according to established procedures so that residents receive food at the proper temperature and are able to enjoy each course in a relaxed manner
- garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving
- notifies Dining Room Manager and/or Food Service Director of any customer complaints so that the complaints can be handled immediately
