Job Requirements

  • Obtain a serving permit to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to stand for up to 5 hours
  • Ability to safely lift and easily maneuver trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds
  • Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
  • Basic math skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale system

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
  • Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • Possess basic math skills
  • Ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods
  • Able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Make recommendations guests will enjoy
  • Answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
  • Take food and beverage orders and enter into the point-of-sale system
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly to guests
  • Perform side work at start and end of shifts
  • Maintain clean service areas
  • Monitor guests' dining experience and ensure satisfaction
  • Prepare final bill, present check, accept payment and process transactions
  • Assist fellow servers and bus persons as needed
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • Fill in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
