Job Requirements
- Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
- Background clearances as required by government regulations
- Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test results within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment
- Basic counting skills as required by the position such as tracking meals and residents
- Must be mindful regarding the use of resources and supplies minimizing waste and misuse
- Must be mobile and able to perform physical requirements including standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion
- Able to move intermittently throughout the work day and the community
- Ability to lift or carry 40 plus pounds, push and pull carts as necessary
Job Qualifications
- Exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn
- Good communication skills including the ability to speak, write, understand, and read English
- Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar cart, trays, heating cart
- Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and the general public
- Complete the dining room training course with CCG
- Meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements
Job Duties
- Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, efficient and courteous manner
- Assist residents with meal and menu selections as necessary or requested
- Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally
- Review residents dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
- Track resident attendance at meals and provide that information in a timely manner
- Ensure that all residents are greeted and seated properly making extra efforts to integrate new residents
- Ensure a clean sanitary dining area and comply with all policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food
- Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members, and guests
- Aid in community marketing effort through positive interactions, dress and behavior
- Serve, clean, reset tables, return dishes to kitchen
- Other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisors or designee of the Executive Director
- Clean and set up all dining and food service areas including stocking of condiments
- Cooperate and assist with other kitchen and dining services
- Report any safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
