- ability to up-sell items such as alcohol, cigars, coffee products
- ability to present, open, and pour wine
- knowledge of fine dining etiquette
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- ability to maintain effective customer relations

Job Duties
- serves food and beverages in a friendly and courteous manner
- relays any customer complaints regardless of magnitude to the supervisor
- inspects food and products from the kitchen for quality
- sets up dining tables and ensures all items are appropriately placed
- become familiar with the prices of drinks and items on certain menus
- writes all checks clearly and legibly in ink
- understands the pre-check system procedures
- displays a professional and courteous image on a formal basis with guests
