Job Requirements
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
- Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
- Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public
- Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
- Communicate in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry 30 lbs and occasionally lift/carry 50 lbs
- Must be able to frequently push/pull up to 30 lbs and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequently standing or walking
- Bending, twisting, stooping
- Reaching at or below the shoulder
- Exposure to heat from kitchen equipment and cold from kitchen freezer
Job Qualifications
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
- Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
- Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
- Communicate in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
- Ability to express yourself clearly and effectively
Job Duties
- Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
- Distribute and collect menus as necessary
- Take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu
- Follow sanitary regulations at all times
- Provide Platinum Service with each dining experience
- Set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served
- Assist in checking resident trays before distribution
- Pour hot and cold beverages for residents
- Assist residents with opening their containers and condiments as needed
- Prepare and deliver snacks to special events and parties hosted at the community
- Bus tables during and after the meals
- Provide support services to other dining rooms, during events and activities as needed
- Clean dining room area according to the cleaning schedules and assignments
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
