Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to perform essential job functions including visual acuity and communication
  • Ability to work specified hours including evening PRN shifts
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling
  • Ability to follow instructions and department procedures
  • Ability to use chemicals appropriately
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of measuring utensils and food production sheets

Job Duties

  • Cleans and stores dishes according to set departmental standards
  • Complete cleaning processes efficiently and timely
  • Utilize chemicals appropriately for sanitation
  • Maintain work area by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing counters, and taking out garbage
  • Correctly serve foods and assemble trays adhering to dietary restrictions
  • Follow dish room and pot and pan procedures including use of chemicals and drying time
  • Assist in light meal preparation such as preparing sandwiches and opening cans
  • Follow safe food handling procedures and HACCP guidelines
  • Abide by the schedule and select menus for residents
  • Demonstrate proper hand washing techniques and food preparation competencies
