Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or food service preferred
- Must possess a valid food handling certificate
- Must have an alcohol service permit if required by state or federal laws
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to handle and move objects
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 30 lbs and 15 lbs often
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body, arms, and/or legs
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Read and comprehend banquet event orders when setting up events
- Set up banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware, and silverware
- Serve meals to guests or replenish food to buffet lines
- Serve beverages including alcoholic drinks and verify guest age
- Carry meals on a tray
- Set up and maintain food and beverage stations according to OVG standards
- Observe guests to respond to requests and clear dishes
- Refill condiments and replace tableware and linens
- Participate in event setup and cleanup
- Work individually and within a team
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
- Maintain punctual attendance
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors or management
